New in ProLace Version
5.5
 
With Version 5.5 AllCAD continued what has been started with Version 5 - Optimization of the whole software with the goal to make ProArt/ProLace even more user-friendly and powerful. Also the number of commands has been reduced again.
Apart from that AllCAD invented the new ProLace Branch Function, which opens a completely new and revolutionary way of punching..
 
Combined commands

 

More commands have been combined to reduce the number of icons in the toolbars.
Now there are only a view flyout toolbars left, what makes the software easier to learn, especially for new ProArt and ProLace users.
 

Commands with Quick Menus

 

Quick Menus are open during the command execution and thus directly and quickly accessible without right click. The disadvantage of Quick Menus is that they cover a part of the graphics area with the design. For this reason they should be small so that they don’t disturb the user. To keep them small some Quick Menus contain only the most important and most frequently used options of a command.

 
 SPIRALE

 
The old spiral had the problem that the polyline segments were very short what made it difficult to apply certain stitch types like Edge Stitches. Now the segments are much longer and even the Edge Stitch can be applied without any problems.
A new feature to generate Spirals with definable shape has been added. You just have to design the inside and the outside contour as open polyarcs and to specify the number of turns.

FAN – Fill between polylines

 
Areas can be filled between polyarcs with corners and not just between smooth curves like in previous versions. Also many new features have been added.

Raedle line enables you to define the density between the polyarcs.
        The density will be measured at the specified polyline (Raedle line).
If Select boundary is ticked both ends of the fill polyarcs will be trimmed to the boundaries.
If Connect is activated endpoints will be joined at the end resulting in one single polyarc.
If Invert is activated every second polyarc will be inverted.
        Step stitch endpoints can be directly connected with the next Step stitch start.

 
MIRROR - Mirror objects

 
The Mirror command offers now more options.
You can select an existing mirror line,
specify a mirror line with two points
or you can flip the selected objects horizontally or vertically. In this case a single point on the mirror line is required.
 

 
ROTATE – Rotate objects

 
The Rotate command can now also be used to Rotate, Mirror and Scale objects in one step.

This command also replaces the former SCALE command.

 

Automatic Stitches with new features

 
Also many new valuable features have been added to existing automatic stitches.

 
SEDGE - Single and Double Edge stitch

The SEDGE command combines now the Single and the Double Edge in one command. Which stitch type has to be created can be defined in the Parameter Menu.

In case of a Double Edge the stitch picture has been changed to guarantee the Short – Long Turnstitch.
 

GGEFLECT,   BLATTSTI - Geflect stitch and Blattstitch

Inclination Lines and Intersection Lines used to define the Stitch Pattern or the Farmer Stitch Type are now treated as separate Objects. If you delete the stitches of a Blattstitch or Geflect stitch, the Inclination Lines and Intersection Lines will not be erased and can be used again.

With the new command INCLINES you can now construct inclination lines before they are used for a Blattstitch or Geflect stitch.

With the new command INTLINES you can select polylines to form a group of Intersection Lines.

You can choose from 3 different types of Turnstitches:

Regular stitch pattern based on a boundary
The Regular Stitch Pattern can now be defined based on the Inside or Outside Boundary. In this way you can easily achieve a stitch pattern which follows the contour of the effect.

Distance between layers
In case of Geflect Stitches with 2 Layers is it now possible to define a distance between the Layers. This helps to avoid stitches directly on the same position or you can achieve a heavier look.

 

 
  CGEFLECT - Curvy Geflect stitches

In case of contours with deep cuts the Curvy Geflect often produced not very satisfactory results. The new version allows you to define a Raedle Line where the stitch density and distribution will be defined. This results in a more even fill also in difficult situations.

 
GGEFLECT - Straight Geflect stitches with Shadow

In this version more Complex Areas with Shadows can be solved.

No additional inclination lines are required anymore to detect negative Shadow Areas.

Too short stitches in the Nose Points are eliminated.

 

 
  MODULE - User defined Stitch types

 
Definable Width
The Size parameter allows you to define the horizontal Size of a module. Up to now by changing the Size also the Width changed in the same relation. Now the Width of a Module can be defined separately.
 

Module between Polyarcs
Another nice feature is the possibility to insert a Module between two polylines.

 
STEP - Step stitches


Width between layers and Wiggle stitches
 
A Width can be defined for Step stitches with 2 or more layers. Also Wiggle stitches are now supported.

Width also for Bean stitch 
A Width can also be defined for the 3x and 5x Bean stitch.

 
  TURNS - Punching

 
New BRANCH Function to exit from an Automatic Stitch
A Branch is a ProLace Function, which can be inserted at any position of an Automatic Stich.
The example on the left side has 4 Branches on the center Step Stitch and one Branch on the Geflect stitch.
When you connect with the Geflect stitch, the system stops at the Branch. You can exit, punch the underlay and return to the branch.
Later on, when you connect with the Step Stitch the system stops at the first branch. You can punch the first spiral and return to the branch. Then the system jumps to the second branch, you can punch the second spiral and so on.
The big advantage of the branch concept is that you don’t have to cut an Automatic Stitch at the position where you want to exit to punch another part of the design.
Whole Branches can be moved to another location or they can be rotated, mirrored or scaled.



Step stitch Width also on punching
Step stitches with Width can also be defined directly on punching.

 
STEP Stitch – Step Stitch Layer 2

With the combination of the ProLace functions REP - Repeat and END you can punch the first Rang of an Allover design and repeat the Rang as many times you need.
This new functions makes it not only much easier to create Allover designs. It also results in much smaller drawing files with strongly improved performance.

 
 MODIFY – Modify embroidery effects


Mark – Select and modify a part of a design
The new Mark option allows you to select and highlight a certain part of the design.
The selected part can be Moved, Copied, Rotated, Mirrored, Scaled or Deleted.
If the selected part is on a single manual stitch object you can break the selected stitches (Break between 2 points) or you can remove the stitches (Straighten between 2 points).













Search… – Find a function or a certain turn
IThe Search function got also a face lift.
Now you can directly search for NR Needle On/Off and Color Change.
If you search for a function which is not included in the main Search Menu, you can Repeat the same search.
You can also Show the embroidery progress starting at the actual position.

 
 
OUTPUT – Write stitch data

 
Show embroidery progress
If the option Function test only is activated also the new option Show embroidery progress will appear in the Output menu. If you activate also this option you can define the embroidery speed.
After leaving the menu with Done the system will show the embroidery progress according the selected speed.

 
 

What else?

 
This is not yet all! There are still many other features coming along with this new release. Below you get a brief description of some of them.

  •  A right click on a polyline opens the PLEDIT command.

  • If you ROTATE or MOVE an already punched section, this section will not be disconnected anymore. The connection stitches will be adjusted..

  • The BORDER search can be controlled now with a Dialog Box.

  • Wiggle stitches got the short cut keys X to change the side and F to turn On/Off the first stitch.

  • Laser/Thermo Cut Support for Lässer and for Saurer.
